Life story of the 11th century great Tibetan lay yogi Marpa - disciple of Naropa and guru to Milarepa. Marpa endured many hardships on his three journeys to India where he could find the dharma as it was in decline in his homeland. After years of suffering and practice he became one of the great yogis of Tibet - renowned for establishing the practice lineage and translating and bringing the tantric teachings to Tibet. Unlike many other Tibetan Masters, Marpa was a skilled businessman and farmer, who also raised a family while training his disciples.
